Social Policy & Governance 

Functions

  1. Provide liaison and coordination with Government Departments and Agencies on all matters concerning social policy and Government services in all sectors including Governance, Health (HIV/ AIDS), Education, Law & Justice, Security, Social Welfare and Development (Gender, Youth, Churches and Housing; and
  2. Provide assessment and advice to all sectors to ensure that appropriate level of resources and government services and direct all sectors in achieving the strategic goals provided in the PNG Vision 2050.

Objectives

  1. To provide the Prime Minister, Ministers and the National Executive Council with high quality and timely policy, legislation, and management advice in relation to National Plans.
  2. To coordinate the development and implementation of effective, institutional arrangements to strengthen governance, policy and planning, frameworks in Whole-of-Government systems for quality performance and management at all levels.
